Sunsets Up North.

For the time being, this page is about the sunsets I am fortunate to capture while in northern Michigan.  Over the course of the summer, these pictures may evolve into another topic, but for now, I'll let them stand alone, here.  I should add that this group of photos was taken on the same evening.  I never realized how much a single sunset changes over a rather brief time span.

Picture
Silver Sunset.
The sun is still rather high, so this is early as a sunset picture.  I was struck by how much the light appeared like liquid silver, and the various silvery shades reflecting from the sky onto the water.  This view is from Bay View, MI across Little Traverse Bay toward the opening into Lake Michigan.

Approaching Sunset.
I moved to a different location along the beach, to find a quiet spot away from the main road.  This image is in the direction of the Petoskey State Park.

Picture
Blue & Yellow Sunset.
This is looking west, as is the first picture.  More amazing color.

Picture
Pink & Yellow Sunset.
The color continued to change completely.

Picture
Sunset & Rocks 1.
More amazing changes.  And everything looks magical and otherworldly.

Picture
Sunset & Rocks 2.
This is basically from the same location as the picture with rocks above.  Only the light changes.

Sunset -- Purple & Yellow.
And then, the end.  Another day finished, another witness to the amazing and always changing natural world around us.
